IT Industry Topper 2016 is TCS followed by Infy, Cognizant

Nasscom representative body ranked Tata Consultancy Services as the top employer in the IT industry. The major software services firm was followed by other IT giants Infosys, Cognizant, Wipro and Capgemini as per Nasscom. Others in the top 10 include HCL Technologies, Tech Mahindra, Genpact, Intelnet Global Services and Aegis. The top 20 includes Hinduja Global Solutions, CSC India, WNS Global Services, Syntel, Mphasis, EXL, L&T Infotech, Firstsource Solutions, MindTree and CGI. Keeping the development centers in Chennai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad, Cognizant has the largest number of employees in India though it is a US-based IT firm. Infosys to hire 20,000 freshers through Campus in 2015

Infosys said that it was planning to hire around 20,000 fresher candidates from various campuses including universities in the country. The company’s fresh campus hire plan for the year 2015 is in line with what it had done last year 2014. The COO (Chief Operating Officer) of Infosys, U. B. Pravin Rao detailing the campus recruitment plans, "This number would be similar number what we have done last year 2014." He added "We want to hire more people as interns and want them to continue to be part of us. We believe that the increase in stipend (from Rs. 4000 to Rs. 10000) will also help them to have a long term career with us". Infosys generally provide stipend for interns ranging from Rs. 4000. The plan looks it would increase the number of interns as well every year and also has increased the stipend for interns to Rs.10,000. Syntel Sacked / Laid Off 1000 Employees in India - 300 from Chennai

According to the New Democratic Labour Front (NDLF) via S Karpagavinayagam, Organiser of the Wing, the US based company Syntel sacked 1000 of its employees nearly 300 from Chennai location. He went on to allege that the firm was planning to let go off more employees, nearly 3,000. However, the NDLF said no employee has come forward to make his grievances public. However, as usual the company denied the news. The only people who have been let go off were those not performing to standards expected by the company. “As part of Syntel’s annual evaluation process, a few employees who have not performed to these expectations were released. The numbers reported are speculative and do not represent facts on the ground,” said Syntel. Indian Software Employees Salary may get 11.3% Hike in 2015

Global management consultancy Hay Group released the annual compensation report which says that the corporate employees across India are expected to get a slightly higher average salary hike of 11.3% across roles this year, compared to an actual average salary increase of 10.9% in 2014. clerical and operational, supervisory and junior professionals, middle management and seasoned professionals, and senior management and executives These are the four major job roles. Across all four employee levels, the increments range between 10.6- 11.9%. The actual paid out variable pay stood at 12.7% across sectors and levels. Oil and gas sector remained at the top at 15.4% for 2014, followed by FMCG at 14.5% and chemicals at 14.4%. Google Open its 3rd Own Campus in Hyderabad after US and UK

Google is going to open its own campus in Hyderabad which is going to be the third campus in the world after US and UK. Google currently operates from rented premises and this campus will be the permanent and big one. Harpreet Singh, the state secretary of Telangana IT, Electronics and Communications said "We are likely to sign MoU with Google. They are likely to open their campus here in Hyderabad. TCS will Offer Campus Hiring in FY16 to 35,000 Freshers from 350 to 440 Institutes

Tata Consultancy Services, India's largest software company said it will offer 35,000 jobs for freshers at campuses in 2015-16, 10,000 more than offered in the current fiscal. It is likely to overshoot its overall stated target of hiring 55,000 professionals, including lateral ones, during the ongoing 2014-15 fiscal. Is this not the good news to the job market in India? TCS executive global head and VP for human resources, Ajoy Mukherjee, told PT that " We will be overshooting that 55,000 number but at the moment we are not looking at what that final number is going to be. We will be doing 35,000 campus offers next fiscal " The process has already been set rolling and the company is visiting campuses, he added. Of the 25,000 offers made for FY15, Mukherjee said he expects around 71-72% freshers to actually join the company.
