What is First name and Last Name?

Most of the fresher graduates out from college experience the confusion of first name and last name. I just wanted to explain it for your better understanding. If you have any more questions or comments, please pass in the below comments space.

First name (two words, not one): It is the name your parents give you at birth (Anusha, Arun, Sureshkumar, Rohit etc). It is also called given name

Last name (also two separate words): This is your family name, also called surname or your Father's name. Examples are Narayanan, Paul.

Full Name: Its your First name and Last name.

In Anusha Narayanan, Anitha is the first name and Narayanan is her last name. Narayanan may be her family name or father's name (sometime her spouse name).
